Kan Tan IV Contracted by Shell Todd for Drilling Program in New Zealand

The Frigstad Offshore-managed semi-submersible Kan Tan IV has been contracted by Shell Todd for a 1+2 well drilling contract in New Zealand

The Frigstad Offshore managed semi-submersible drilling rig Kan Tan IV has been committed for a 1+2 well drilling campaign offshore New Zealand by Shell Todd Oil Services Ltd, acting on behalf of joint ventures in PMP381203 and PML381012.

The Kan Tan IV is managed by Frigstad Offshore Drilling (Cyprus) Ltd on behalf of owner Sinopec Star Petroleum Company Ltd. The rig is an Enhanced Pacesetter delivered by FELS in Singapore in 1983, capable of operating in up to 2,000ft of water depth and equipped with a 18-3/4 15K BOP. The rig is currently anchored off Singapore having completed an extensive refurbishment program including going into dry-dock to have its hull overhauled and an update of the on-board equipment.
